Seminole wasn't incorporated as a city until a community meeting at Seminole Mall on November 15, 1970, attended by more than 800 freeholders — the last municipality to incorporate in Pinellas County, after decades as primarily agricultural land settled in the 1840s. Most of the town's roofing stock dates to that 1970s incorporation wave and the suburban growth that followed it.
Ridge elevation doesn't exempt Seminole roofs from code
Seminole sits on higher, better-drained ridge ground than some of the county's coastal towns, but that elevation advantage has nothing to do with wind exposure, and any reroof still has to meet current Florida Building Code wind-uplift requirements no matter how far the property sits from the water.
